摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument for measuring concentration, having a means for measuring the concentration of ascorbic acid in a sample by a method other than optical rotation, along with a means for measuring the optical rotation and measuring the optical rotation of a sample by irradiating the sample with linear polarized light to measure the concentration of an optically active substance in the sample. <P>SOLUTION: In the concentration measuring instrument for measuring the concentration of the optically active substance in the sample by irradiating the sample with linear polarized light to measure the optical rotation of the sample; a means for measuring the concentration of ascorbic acid in the sample is added other than the means for measuring optical rotation to calculate the optical rotation due to ascorbic acid that is an inhibitor at the time of measurement of the concentration of glucose; and the optical rotation due to optical rotation is subtracted from the measured optical rotation to remove the effect of ascorbic acid. Accordingly, the concentration of glucose can be measured with high precision. As a result of this constitution, (1) when optical activity is used as the technique for measuring the concentration of glucose in urine, an optically active substance other than glucose becomes an inhibitor. Further (2) ascorbic acid is designated as one of inhibitors, and since there is a possibility that ascorbic acid is contained in urine in large quantities, the problem wherein the state, incapable of measuring the optical rotation of glucose, or causing measurement errors is considered is eliminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
