PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroluminescent display apparatus and its method of manufacture. SOLUTION: The electroluminescent display apparatus is provided with a thin film transistor layer formed on the whole surface of a substrate, one or more insulating layers formed on the whole surface of the thin film transistor layer and a pixel layer installed on a top part of the insulating layer and containing a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer and an electroluminescent part installed between them. The pixel layer is installed on a bottom part of the first electrode layer and is provided with a reflecting layer coming into direct contact with one of a source/drain electrodes in the TFT layer, the reflecting layer is provided with a penetration part in which direct contact occurs between the first electrode layer and the source/drain electrodes through the reflecting layer and the penetration part is provided in a size which is smaller than a via hole in the insulating layer.
