PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively train the gluteus maximus by use not in a standing posture but in a lying posture. SOLUTION: A training apparatus is provided with a bed part 1, a leg mounting tool 8 connected to the bed part 1 and arranged at the position of lying supine on the bed part 1 and mounting legs, and a tilting mechanism 2 connected to the bed part 1 so as to vertically move the leg mounting tool 8. The tilting mechanism 2 is connected to the bed part 1 so as to tilt the leg mounting tool 8 from a position above the same surface as the upper surface of the bed part 1 to a position below the same surface as the upper surface of the bed part 1. Further, the tilting mechanism 2 is provided with a load mechanism 3 for driving the leg mounting tool 8 so as to move upwards and a stopper mechanism for stopping the leg mounting tool 8 moved upwards by the load mechanism 3 at a prescribed position. With the training apparatus, the gluteus maximus is trained by lying on the bed part 1 and moving the leg mounting tool 8 downwards against the load mechanism 3 by the legs.
