PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source apparatus, even when the efficiency of semiconductor laser as an excitation light source is changed in a long term or a short term, precisely stabilizing the amount of optical outputs at a rating when a white light and the exciting light are alternately fed to an incident end face of a light guide laid in an insertion tube of an endoscope. SOLUTION: The light source part 22 inside a body device 20 of an electronic endoscope system detects the amount of the exciting light which is left unreflected by a dichroic mirror transmitting the white light and reflecting the exciting light, by a sensor 228. The amount of the exciting light detected by the sensor 228 is amplified by an amplification circuit 228a and input in an output control circuit 224b controlling the output amount of the semiconductor laser 224a emitting laser beams as the exciting light. The output control circuit 224b instantaneously and highly precisely controls to feed back the amount of the optical outputs of the semiconductor laser based on the amount of the exciting light detected by the sensor.
