PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems such that a conventional method for dyeing by sucking a dyeing solution from a cut section of a plant invites a time loss and quality deterioration, since the dyeing solution is sucked through a trachea of a plant organism, it takes a time until the dyeing is completed and the dyeing solution reaches to the whole plant where the trachea presents to damage plant texture; and also the method is not applicable to potted plants to begin with orchids, and the like. SOLUTION: This method for dyeing the plant material comprises immersing the part to be dyed into≥1% aqueous ionic surfactant solution or nonionic surfactant solution obtained by diluting with water, leaving for some time and then rinsing with water, drying water attaching to the part to be dyed by blowing wind or naturally, or immersing the part to be dyed in 50-99% ethanol, leaving for some time, then taking out, drying by blowing wind or naturally, then immersing into a dyeing agent composition consisting of methyl ethyl ketone, isopropyl alcohol, water removed with impurities and a dyestuff, leaving for some time and then rinsing with flowing water to obtain a uniform dyeing.
