The invention concerns an electro-acoustic back electret transducer (1) with a membrane (2), a counter electrode (3) and an electret layer (4) applied to the side of the counter electrode facing the membrane, and a method for producing such an electro-acoustic back electret transducer (1). In order to produce an electro-acoustic back electret transducer (1) with less distance between the membrane (2) and the counter electrode (3) and that has a smooth electret layer (4), even when the counter electrode (3) has holes (5), the invention proposes that the electret layer (4) be vapour deposited by thermal deposition.
