A client communication part (112) of a client apparatus (110,140) uses a timer provided therein and having a timing function to acquire both a communication commencement time at which a message header of an HTTP response is received and a communication termination time at which the line is disconnected. A client side timeout prevention part (113) uses the communication commencement and termination times to calculate a timeout time. The client communication part (112) notifies a server apparatus (130) of the timeout time. A server side timeout prevention part (133) of the server apparatus (130) transmits a message body of the HTTP response for preventing the timeout of a proxy apparatus (120) at time intervals shorter than the timeout time.
