The device has a movable workpiece support (1) for reciving the workpiece (2) being tested. The space (5) containing the workpiece is airtight and contains a gas sensor (14). The support is fitted to couplings (13,19) for gas, power and data lines via separate, fixed junction stations. INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for the testing method.
