PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving object capable of inexpensively and precisely moving along a set predeterminate guide route in a closed activity area. SOLUTION: A moving object is capable of automatically moving in a prescribed closed activity area and is provided with a map information storage part 12 having map information of the activity area stored therein, a guide route setting part 13 for setting a predeterminate guide route of the moving object 1 correspondingly to the map information stored in the map information storage part 12, and a control part 17 for guiding and controlling the moving object 1 on the basis of the predeterminate guide route set by the guide route setting part 13.
