PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of generating robot teaching data capable of generating data for off-line teaching even in consideration of the relation between a work to be executed and an end effector at each work object point. SOLUTION: An off-line teaching method for performing robot teaching by operating a virtual robot on a computer comprises a fitness determination step (step S3) for determining whether or not the tool characteristic of a tool to be used for work fits the content of work to be performed by the robot at each work object point on a work performed by the robot.
