PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed processing system and a file update method for performing a file update operation without interrupting a service. SOLUTION: In this distributed processing system, a plurality of PC 21 and 23 having computer functions are connected to a network, and the distributed processing of information to be processed is performed by those respective PC 21, 22 and 23. When a new application is added to the distributed processing system, a scenario management server 31 stores new scenario data corresponding to the new application, and those respective PC 21 and 23 are provided with a new application performing part 52 corresponding to the new application.
