PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a number verification system which verifies the correctness of a notification number. SOLUTION: The number verification system is a notification number verification system which verifies correctness in a communication network of an outgoing notification number informed from an outgoing telephone terminal. The system is provided with a communication connection control means for controlling communication connection to the outgoing telephone terminal, a user information management means which manages the user information of each user who has at least a set notification number acknowledged in the communication network, a user authentication means which refers to the user information managed by the user information management means and performs originator's authentication based on a received signal given from the outgoing telephone terminal, and a notification number verification means which verifies the correctness of the outgoing notification number by comparison about the matter whether the outgoing notification number contained in the received signal coincides with the set notification number of the user information in the user information management means when proper authentication is performed by the user authentication means.
