PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raised nonwoven fabric which is light and can be applied to various uses, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This raised nonwoven fabric is characterized by comprising a base layer prepared by fusing thermally fusible fibers and a raised layer prepared by raising fine fibers having a fiber diameter of≤one half of the diameter of the thermally fusible fibers from the base layer, and being composed of the fibers. The raised nonwoven fabric can be produced by making paper from a slurry containing the thermally fusible fibers and the fine fibers on a paper-making net, thereby forming a fiber web in a state that the fine fibers are inserted into the openings of the paper-making net, peeling the formed fiber web from the paper-making net, and then fusing the heat-fusible fibers.
