The pipe inspection unit has an inflatable tube (26) mounted behind a pivoting head (16). The tube can be used to seal a branch pipe which is then filled with water. A sensor (30) in front of the tube is then used to detect loss in pressure due to a leak. A camera (12) mounted on the head can be sued to inspect pipes optically.
