DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING ULTRASONIC IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the burden on a user by reducing the variations in data images to be three-dimensionally processed and substantially shortening the time required for the adjustment in parameters and image quality in later stages.

SOLUTION: A frame set producing section 106 produces a frame set 110 composed of a plurality of two-dimensional tomographic images orthogonal to the tomographic face of a tomographic image. A statistical volume calculation section 200 analyzes each pixel value of the frame set to calculate the statistical volume. When a volume set 112 for the three-dimensional image is produced based on the frame set, an image modification section 201 modifies the image quality of the volume set based on the statistical volume.
