PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check a expected finishing state prior to executing printing by an operator in an image forming apparatus, and to perform accurate and simplified setting operation.

SOLUTION: A finishing information generating unit 131 generates prospective finishing information, based on image data read out by a scanner 11 in an image processing unit 13, and an input screen information generating unit 132 generates an input screen to be displayed on a display unit 15c and displays the screen. When setting input is given by an operator via the input screen, after the operator checks the displayed prospective finishing image, a setting unit 133 receives the input; the finishing information generating unit 131 generates a finishing information screen, based on the received setting; the input screen information generating unit 132 generates input screen information; and the display unit 15c displays the prospective finishing image and an input screen.
