BATH WATER STERILIZATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective sterilization system for sterilizing Legionella bacteria generated in the water in a circulation heating type bath tub.

SOLUTION: Piping for circulation heating of the bath tub is provided with a DC electrolyzing device 17, sterilizing area piping 18, and a hypochlorous acid removing filter 19 made of cationized cotton. The salinity in the hot water is electrolyzed with the DC electrolyzing device 17 to generate hypochlorous acid up to the concentration thereof enough to sterilize the Legionella bacteria in the sterilizing area piping 18. After sterilizing the bacteria, the hypochlorous acid is removed with the hypochlorous acid removing filter 19 disposed at the outlet of the piping 18. The concentration of the hypochlorous acid returned to the bath tub is detected by a hypochlorous acid concentration sensor 24 to control the concentration of the hypochlorous acid generated by the electrolyzing device 17 and meanwhile to sense the deterioration of the hypochlorous acid removing filter 19 to inform the timing and the necessity of exchanging the filter 19. The hypochlorous acid removing filter 19 is made of the cationized cotton obtained by chemically treating the cotton through a cationizing process.
