摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated electrical-mechanical energy converting element which may be reduced in size, can provide higher output, and can also improve motor efficiency; and also to provide a vibration wave driver. <P>SOLUTION: A vibration wave motor 50 is provided with a vibrator 52 and a rotator 53. The vibrator 52 is formed of an elastic material 54 of metal, a laminated piezoelectric element 55 formed of a circular piezoelectric layers 1 to 11, an elastic material 57 of metal, and an elastic material 58 of metal which holds the laminated piezoelectric element 55 and elastic material 57 in cooperation with the elastic material 54. The plane in the side of the first layer of the piezoelectric layer of the even number among the piezoelectric layers 2 to 11 is provided with internal electrodes A+, B+, A-, B-. Meanwhile, the plane in the side of the first layer of the piezoelectric layer of the odd number among the piezoelectric layers 2 to 11 is provided with internal electrodes AG+, BG+, AG-, BG-. These internal electrodes have small external diameters of internal electrodes of the piezoelectric layers 5, 6 and smaller external diameters of internal electrodes of the piezoelectric layers 2 to 4, in comparison with the internal electrodes up to the piezoelectric layers 7 to 11 in accordance with a distortion to be generated in the internal side of the laminated piezoelectric element 55. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
