<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a variable light distribution type headlight wherein an operation angle of a steering system and a swing angle of a headlight lighting fixture are fixed and consequently there is a strong tendency to swing too much during high speed travel and it was hard to make necessary front confirmation. <P>SOLUTION: In this variable light distribution type headlight 1, vehicle speed signals are connected to an arithmetic unit 4, and when the value of the vehicle speed signal is high speed, the arithmetic unit 4 sets a maximum swing angle for the headlight lighting fixture 2 as a narrow range, but when the value of the vehicle speed signal is low speed, the arithmetic unit 4 sets the maximum swing angle for the headlight lighting fixture 4 as a wide range. During high speed travel needing to monitor the road surface far ahead of a vehicle, the swing angle of the headlight lighting fixture 2 is limited to a fixed value or less regardless of the operation amount of the steering system 5 to eliminate irradiation in a lateral direction more than necessary. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
