PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for increasing the effect of a dehydration assistant by improving the miscibility of crushed vegetable fiber material used as the dehydration assistant and sludge, in a technology for crushing vegetable to use it as the dehydration assistant, which is expected as a method for effective utilization of vegetable waste and an effective pretreatment method for sludge dehydration. SOLUTION: In a sludge dehydration method, expanded and crushed material obtained by expanding and crushing vegetable is added to and mixed with the sludge to dehydrate the sludge.
