PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tatami mat edge body enabling even a person who has no experience as a tatami mat craftsman to be easily and securely able to neatly replace the surface part of a tatami mat. SOLUTION: This tatami mat edge body comprises a slender edge under paper 20 and an edge cloth 30 fitted to cover the under paper which are laminated on each other. An adhesive double-coated tape 11 is stuck on the surface of the edge cloth 30 in 1/3 width, the edge under paper is fitted to the rear surface of the edge cloth 30 so that a folded edge cloth part 31 of a specified width can remain starting at the stamping position of the double-coated tape 11 toward the farthest side, and a base part 21 corresponding to the stamping part of the double-coated tape 11, a stacked part 22 connected continuously to the base part and having the same width as that of the base part, and a folded-up part 23 connected continuously to the stacked part and having a width smaller by an amount of a folded-up edge cloth part 31 than that of the base part are laterally installed on the edge under paper 20. Thus, since the double-coated tape 11 is stuck on the surface end of the edge under paper 20 covered with the edge cloth 30, the double-coated tape 11 portion can be fixed to the surface part of the tatami mat while aligning it to the end edge thereof.
