PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling weeds capable of increasing selections according to the characteristics of a plant against a herbicidally active compound in using the herbicidally active compound. SOLUTION: This method for controlling the weeds is characterized by having a process of scattering a protoporphyrinogen IX oxidase activity inhibitory type herbicidally active compound and also at least≥1 herbicidally active compound selected from the following group of herbicidally active compounds in an area cultivating a plant introduced with a DNA having a base sequence encoding an amino acid sequence of a cytochrome P450 exhibiting an activity of metabolizing the protoporphyrinogen IX oxidase activity inhibitory type herbicidally active compound. <The group of herbicidally active compounds> (1) Fulfenpyr-ethyl, (2) 2-[4-chloro-2-fluoro-5-(2-propionyloxy)phenyl]-4-methyl-5-(trifluoromethyl)-3(2H)-pyridazinone, (3) Carfentrazone ethyl, (4) Sulfentrazone.
