PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic electronic component such as a laminated ceramic capacitor which has a low IR fraction defective(initial insulating resistance defective), is excellent in high-temperature load life, and has high reliability, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The ceramic electronic component has a dielectric layer, the dielectric layer contains a major composition containing a material of (Ba, Ca) (Ti, Zr)O<SB>3</SB>and a subcomposition containing a Si oxide, and the content of the Si oxide is 0-0.4 wt% for all the dielectric layer (however, zero is not contained). Preferably, the dielectric layer has a segregated layer, and the segregated layer contains the Si oxide and dose not substantially contain a Li oxide. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
