PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable steam turbine installation in which performance and output are improved, while minimizing the range of modification in the steam turbine installation now in use. SOLUTION: One of two turbines equipped in the steam turbine installation now in use is replaced with an advanced turbine designed on the latest technology, and the two turbines are integrated into a single structure. In this case, footings supporting the two turbines, the other not-replaced turbine, condensers, and incidental equipment and the like are also used without removal in the integrated structure.
