<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monocolor type liquid crystal display device with which a clear color display is available in a transmissive mode and a bright monochromatic display is available in a reflective mode, and further, of which the gap uniformity is excellent and which is easily manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 1 is equipped with a liquid crystal panel 50 and a backlight 40. A transflective film 13 and a color filter 12 are arranged on the liquid crystal panel 50.
