<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food preparing device capable of preventing unevenness in cooking and burning of foodstuffs by preventing the foodstuffs from twining around agitator blades in cooking food such as chow mein or fried rice sticks, and manufacturable relatively inexpensively. <P>SOLUTION: The food preparing device comprises a heating pan 2 and the agitator blades 4 capable of agitating foodstuffs loaded into the heating pan 2. The food preparing device also has a lift means 6 for lifting the agitator blades 4. The agitator blades 4 are movable upward/downward, and the food preparing device is repeatedly moved upward/downward according to the agitation of the agitator blades 4.
