<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cleaner low in exhausting resistance and high in PM (particle matter) collecting efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The porosity of partition walls in a honeycomb structural body 10 is made to be 60% to 80%, and the average fine pore diameter of the partition walls is made to be 20 μm to 60 μm. A comparatively low exhausting resistance can be realized while adopting a wall flow-typed structure in which an exhaust gas is filtered through porous partition walls. Also, the PM collecting efficiency can be improved by additionally performing static adsorption by a central electrode 20 and an outer peripheral electrode 15. The NOx removal rate can be improved because the carrying amount of an NOx occlusion reduction-type catalyst can be increase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
