<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable storage device reduced in size for improvement of portability and securement of strength. <P>SOLUTION: In this USB flash memory device 1, a plug shell 2 for a USB plug is formed to be longer backward in comparison with an ordinary one. A printed circuit board 8, to which a control IC 9, a flash memory 10 and the like are mounted, is housed inside the plug shell 2. The printed circuit board 8 is arranged just behind the plug part 3 inside the plug shell, a rear end part of a contact plate 6 on an insulator 5 is connected to a contact terminal arranged on the printed circuit board 8 by soldering and the like. In this way, a space inside the extension part, which is prolonged for durability in attachment/detachment and not used conventionally, is used for a housing space for the main body, and consequently, the length of the device can be greatly shortened in comparison with a conventional one. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
