PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the reliable arrive at a destination in a shortest time. SOLUTION: The route guidance system comprises: the information acquisition means for acquiring map data; the route searching means for searching the route; the first re-search determination means for determination whether the condition of the first re-search determination is satisfied or not when the car is in a not running state; the second re-search determination means for determination whether the condition of the second re-search determination is satisfied or not when the car begins to run again; the third re-search determination means for determination whether the condition of the third re-search determination is satisfied or not on the basis of the lapsed time after the condition of the first re-search determination had satisfied; and the re-search process means for searching the route again when the first to the third re-search determination conditions are satisfied.
