PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize core cooling. SOLUTION: A steam generator 1 is formed from a vessel body 3, many U-tubes 11 arranged in the vessel body 3, and liquid chambers 5, 6 arranged below the U-tubes 11 in the vessel body 3. The liquid chambers 5, 6 are constituted of a high-temperature side liquid chamber 5 and a low-temperature side liquid chamber 6. The steam generator 1 is equipped with a cooling acceleration portion for accelerating cooling of a cooling liquid inside a reaction vessel 2 in order to suppress siphon break at U-shaped parts 14 of the U-tubes 11.
