PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auto-contrast processing device by which an optimal image signal for an image display device with little contrast is obtained. SOLUTION: In the auto-contrast processing device 101 which performs a display at a maximum graduation level of a display device 102 when an image signal is displayed by the display device 102 with lower graduation than a graduation of an image input signal device 100, a calculation circuit 4 detecting a maximum level and a minimum level of an image signal inputted to an image input device and calculating the difference, an amplifying circuit 8 obtaining a ratio of the maximum level and the minimum level of the image signal for a maximum graduation level of the image input device 100, and amplifying at an amplifying ratio which is the maximum level of the display device 101 for the ratio, and a correction circuit correcting the minimum level of the image signal amplified by the amplifying circuit 8 to the minimum level of the display device 102 and correcting the maximum level of the image signal amplified by the amplifying circuit 8 to the maximum level of the display device 102.
