PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charbroiler which is durable and which protects a cook from high temperature of charcoal fire. SOLUTION: A charcoal tub 20 of the charbroiler 1 is provided with a charcoal receiving grid constituted by arraying a plurality of ceramic bars, and is surrounded by a plurality of ceramic walls. Since the charcoal receiving grid and the surrounding walls consist of ceramic whose heat conduction coefficient is small, heat transmission from the charcoal tub 20 to a casing 10 and the lower side of the grid is suppressed. The charbroiler 1 is provided with a heat protector 60 covering the upper part of the front surface of the casing 10. Between the heat protector 60 and the upper part of the front surface of the casing, a gap with a vertical opening is formed, and an air stream made by natural convection flows through the gap to thermally insulate the heat protector 60 and the upper part of the front surface of the casing 10 from each other.
