<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traction driven power transmission device having improved durability while simplifying its construction and reducing its cost. <P>SOLUTION: The power transmission device comprises an input disc 21 to be rotated integrally with an input shaft 20 and having a contact surface 21a on the outer periphery, an output disc 31 to be rotated integrally with an output shaft 30 and having a contact surface 31a on the outer periphery, and a roller 50 for rolling in contact with both contact surfaces 31a, 21a. A load adjusting mechanism is formed with a cam ring 60 having a carrier 40 and a cam face 61 rotatably and revolvably supporting the rotor 50 to automatically increase a normal load which pushes the roller 50 against the contact surfaces 31a, 21a when the rotating speed of the output shaft 30 is lower than a preset speed. Thus, the minimum normal load is normally applied to produce stable traction force, improving the durability without applying an unreasonable load. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
