<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device whereby a vehicle safety drive support device or the like can monitor a principal region of a imaging field with optimum image quality. <P>SOLUTION: A region setting function 31 sets two or more regions including at least the principal region and a non-principal region with respect to the imaging field relating to a video signal produced by imaging elements 1 arranged to generate the video signal corresponding to the imaging field, a luminance range measurement function 32 respectively measures a luminance range of the imaging field by each of the regions, and a dynamic range adjustment function 33 sets conditions of imaging by the imaging elements 1 on the basis of the result of measurement so as to adjust the effective dynamic range of the imaging elements 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
