<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the level of external noise, while restraining the increase in cost and the enlargement of scale in an image forming apparatus to which renewal parts equipped with a radio tag are detachably attached and which is equipped with a communications device performing radio communication with the radio tag. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 is constituted of an apparatus body 2 and the renewal part 3 detachably attached to the apparatus body 2. The radio tag 10 is attached to the renewal part 3. The apparatus body 2 is provided with a reader/writer 30 performing radio communication with the radio tag 10 via a transmission antenna and a reception antenna and a control unit 40 controlling the reader/writer 30 as the communication device 20.
