PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for electrophotography which is a resin coated carrier with a coating layer stably adhering to a core material surface, has satisfactory charge imparting property, excellent environmental stability and satisfactory durability, and can give an image of excellent image quality free of image deletion. SOLUTION: The resin coated carrier is configured such that a resin coating layer containing a polyhydroxyalkanoate in which one or more 3-hydroxyalkanoic acid units containing a sulfonic acid or a derivative thereof are contained within a molecule is disposed on a core material.
