PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system for an imaging device that can perform light emission control with simple constitution without using any external image processor. SOLUTION: A video signal separation part 4 which acquires a video signal from the imaging device, a video signal separation part 4 which separates respective signals from the video signal, a vertical synchronism extraction part 5 which extracts a vertical synchronizing signal separated by a video signal separation part 4, a light emission standby time adjustment part 6 which determines the light emission standby time T2 from light emission to the vertical synchronizing signal of a next video signal, a light emission time adjustment part 7 which adjusts and sends a light emission time T3 as a trigger signal to a light emission driving circuit 8, and an illumination light emission part 9 which lights up a subject 10.
