PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape cartridge in which a shell binding strength around a lead-out port of the magnetic tape can be enhanced without requiring an ultrasonic welding process, and posture change of a leader pin due to dropping impact, and the like, can be prevented. SOLUTION: On a base part 33C of an elastic holding tool 33 for detachably holding a leader pin 31, the magnetic tape cartridge is arranged with engagement projection 33Ea, 33Eb for engaging with the side wall parts 26Ca, 26Cb for an upper shell 21a and a lower shell 21b, respectively, so that separation between each of the shells is regulated. With this elastic holding tool 33, the shell binding strength around the lead-out port part 27 of the magnetic tape is enhanced and holding posture change such as tilt or separation of the leader pin 31 due to the dropping impact, and the like, is prevented.
