PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball withdrawing device which achieves the efficient work of withdrawing the game balls with a higher workability while preventing the return operation from being neglected after the end of the maintenance work. SOLUTION: The ball withdrawing device has a ball stopping mechanism 150 which is provided in a guide path for guiding the game balls to the ball put-out device and made operable to be switched to the ball stopping position of regulating the downflow of the game balls or to the release position of releasing the regulation and a ball stoppage detection means 163 which detects the ball stopping mechanism being set to the ball stopping position. When the ball stopping position is detected by the ball stoppage detection means, a controller makes an notifying means carry out the operation of its notification. When the ball stopping position is detected, the ball put-out device is also actuated to put out the game balls to a ball withdrawing path through a ball discharge port located on the downstream side from the ball stopping position for a substantial space of time enough to discharge those thus located.
