[Class 39 (ii)] In an electric torch the light beam from which is adjustable by means such as the reflector 16 carried by a member such as the sleeve 1 slidably mounted on the end of the torch casing 10, the member is provided with a groove 2 or like means with an aperture 3 at one end, into which aperture a switchoperating button 4 or its equivalent can extend. Initial engagement of the button 4 in the groove 2 closes the switch, and continued engagement of the button in the groove, as the member 1 slides, maintains the switch closed and guides the member 1. The groove may be longitudinal, as shown, or helical, and the aperture 3 is at one side of the groove. The button has a rounded head to facilitate engagement in the groove and has a slot in its side to engage the edge of the aperture 3 to prevent accidental depression. The button is carried by a strip spring 7 which in the closed position engages the insulated socket 8 of the lamp bulb 9. According to the Provisional Specification, the groove is inclined and has an aperture at its lower end. |
