PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device operable at a low voltage, and having excellent light emission efficiency, excellent stability and an excellent manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This light emitting device is provided with: a substrate; a first electrode arranged on the substrate; a second electrode arranged oppositely to the first electrode by interposing a space; and a layered product formed by staking, between the electrodes, a luminescent layer emitting light by applying a voltage between both the electrodes and a layer for injecting charge into the luminescent layer. The light emitting device is characterized by that the layer for injecting the charge contains an oxide for generating luminescence by injecting the charge into the luminescent layer.
