PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorine-containing vinyl ether compound having a fluorine-containing polyether group derived from a hexafluoropropene oxide polymer, thereby not having rigidity like perfluoroalkyl group of a perfluoroalkylvinyl ether, having softness, excellent in heat stability and chemical stability and having both of good optical properties and surface active properties. SOLUTION: The fluorine-containing vinyl ether compound is represented by the general formula: RfO(C<SB>3</SB>F<SB>6</SB>O)<SB>a</SB>(C<SB>n</SB>F<SB>2n</SB>)(C<SB>m</SB>H<SB>2m</SB>)<SB>b</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>OCH=CH<SB>2</SB>(Rf is≥1C polyfluoroalkyl group; a is an integer of 0-30; b is an integer of 1-10; n and m are each 1 or 2). The compound is produced by carrying out XCH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>OH-eliminating reaction of a fluorine-containing alcohol represented by the general formula: RfO(C<SB>3</SB>F<SB>6</SB>O)<SB>a</SB>(C<SB>n</SB>F<SB>2n</SB>)(C<SB>m</SB>H<SB>2m</SB>)<SB>b</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>OH with an alkylvinyl ether represented by general formula XCH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>OCH=CH<SB>2</SB>(X is a halogen atom, a hydrogen atom or a 1-10C alkyl group) in the presence of a palladium-based catalyst.
