A novel combination therapy is described for cardiovascular diseases, in particular essential hypertension, pulmonary hypertension and/or congestive heart failure, involving administering a synergistic combination of at least one inhibitor of neutral endopeptidase, at least one inhibitor of the endogenous endothelin producing system and at least one AT₁ receptor antagonist.
