<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery capable of improving battery properties such as cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A negative electrode 22 contains a carbon material such as graphite, easily graphitizable carbon or hardly graphitizable carbon as a negative electrode active material. An electrolyte comprising propylene carbonate and 4-fluoroethylene carbonate is impregnated in a separator 23. Although the 4-fluoroethylene carbonate suppresses the decomposition reaction of the propylene carbonate in the negative electrode 22, its content is preferably 0.0027-0.056 g per 1 g of the carbon material of the negative electrode 22 since the interfacial resistance of the negative electrode 22 becomes large as the content increases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
