PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil component in which a metal terminal cannot come off a core easily after it is externally fitted to the core and the metal terminal is not enlarged and opened. SOLUTION: An angle formed by a top surface 7A of a sub barrel section 7 for composing the collar section of a magnetic core and a side 7B, and an angle formed by a lower surface 7F and the side 7B are acute angles. A recess 7a and a recess 7f are formed on the top surface 7A and the lower surface 7F. An angle formed by a first pinching section 9A of a metal terminal 9 and a connection section 9B, and an angle formed by a second pinching section 9F and the connection section 9B are acute angles. Projections 9G, 9H are provided on the inner surface of the first pinching section 9A and that of the second pinching section 9F. When externally fitting the metal terminal 9 to the sub barrel section 7, the first pinching section 9A and the second pinching section 9F pinch the top surface 7A and the lower surface 7F, the side 7B comes into contact with the connection section 9B, and the recess 7a and the projection 9G and then the recess 7f and the projection 9H are engaged.
