PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel capable of stably discharging while favorably improving an open area ratio of the panel by using only metallic electrodes. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel comprises a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other; address electrodes formed between the first substrate and the second substrate; barrier ribs arranged at a space between the first substrate and the second substrate separating a plurality of discharge cells; phosphor layers formed in the respective discharge cells; and first electrodes and second electrodes forming discharge gaps by facing each other arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate in the direction of crossing the address electrodes. The respective first electrode and second electrode are composed of at least three line parts arranged with a prescribed distance from each other. The length of a first gap between a pair of lines arranged adjacent to the discharge gap and that of a second gap between a pair of lines arranged adjacent to the peripheral edge of the discharge cells are made different from each other.
