PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery in which strict collection is unnecessary like an ordinary battery without needing a tightly sealed packing, and furthermore in which disposal by incineration is possible similar to the case of general trash. SOLUTION: A power generation part is provided with at least an acidic medium in which a first electrode is arranged and a basic medium in which a second electrode is arranged, and this is the battery in which the acidic medium and the basic medium are mutually adjacent or installed in the neighborhood, a reactant is contained in at least either of the acidic medium or the basic medium, the first electrode and the second electrode are composed of carbon and an organic compound having a hydrocarbon as the skeleton, and a heavy metal is not contained in the acidic medium or the basic medium.
