PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress scratches caused by a mask on a barrier plate when applying mask deposition, and to prevent the mask itself from being damaged. SOLUTION: This EL display 10a is equipped with a substrate 12, the barrier plates 14 disposed on the substrate 12 while forming a plurality of openings corresponding to picture element regions, picture element patterns 16 formed in the openings, and lubricated layers 18 formed on the barrier plate 14.
