PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water leakage generation position detection system capable of detecting the occurrence of a damage in a short time, and performing inspection with a very small amount of water. SOLUTION: A plurality of lower side linear electrodes 54 are laid in parallel to each other, along with laying a nonwoven fabric 53 in an intermediate layer formed between a lower side water barrier sheet 51 and an upper side water barrier sheet 52, and a plurality of upper side linear electrodes 56 are laid in parallel to each other in the mutually crossing directions with the lower side linear electrodes, along with laying a nonwoven fabric 55 on the opposite side to the intermediate layer of the upper side water barrier sheet. A sheet 60 is provided so as to cover the opposite side to the upper side water barrier sheet of the upper side linear electrodes and the nonwoven fabric 55. Pressure-reducing suction openings 57, 61 are formed near the fused/welded portions of the upper side water barrier sheet and the sheet respectively, suction is performed, the pressures between the intermediate layer and the upper side water barrier sheet and between the upper side water barrier sheet and the sheet are made lower than the atmospheric pressure, and water is sprayed by the use of a water spraying tube. From the comparison of the output voltages of current detection circuits at respective intersections of the upper side linear electrodes and the lower side linear electrodes, a water leakage position is detected.
