PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive having both of high thermal conductivity and filling properties and capable of considerably increasing coolability of a permanent magnet, and to provide a method for fixing the permanent magnet to a motor. SOLUTION: This adhesive 6 is used for fixing the permanent magnet 5 of the motor 1, wherein the adhesive 6 contains 100 pts.wt. of a polymer 7 containing mesogenic groups, 50-500 pts.wt. of a monomer 8 containing the mesogenic group and a polymerizable group in its molecule, and 10-100 pts.wt. of a solvent for dissolving the polymer 7 and the monomer 8. When the permanent magnet 5 is fixed to an opening 3a for the magnet of the motor 1, the adhesive 6 is applied to a surface of the permanent magnet 5 at first, then a liquid crystal coating layer is formed on the surface of the permanent magnet 5 by volatilizing the solvent contained in the adhesive 6, the permanent magnet 5 is inserted into the opening 3a for the magnet of the motor 1, and the liquid crystal coating layer is heat-treated, so that adhesive force is generated, and therefore the permanent magnet 5 is fixed to the opening 3a for the magnet of the motor 1.
